“Girls Are Like Leaves on the Wind” – How Gender Expectations Impact Girl’s Education in West Nile, Uganda

Join ICRW on Thursday, March 26th, for the release of a new report that examines the relationship between school dropout and adolescent pregnancy in the post-conflict setting of the districts of Adjumani and Arua, West Nile Uganda.  Kirsten Stoebenau will be presenting on the key findings and will lead a discussion on how gender norms and expectations operating at the community, household and individual level impact on girls’ schooling; and will addresses the implications for policy and programming to ensure girls’ can complete their schooling and contribute to the well-being of their families, communities and society.
