Domestic sex trafficking of youth refers to the commercial sexual exploitation of youth who are U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. This half-day training, hosted by Planned Parenthood of New York City, will provide an overview of the challenges faced by young survivors of domestic sex trafficking and will discuss a trauma-informed service delivery model. Participants will be given the tools to safety plan, avoid re-victimization, and identify young survivors of sex trafficking. In the training, participants will learn to understand how youth are recruited into domestic sex trafficking, recognize the psycho-social impact of domestic sex trafficking on youth, recognize risk factors and warning signs so they can help young survivors of domestic sex trafficking, and develop strategies to work and safety plan with youth survivors.
