International Women’s Day
International Women's Day is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women.

The fifty-eighth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will meet this year between March 10-21. The CSW is the principal global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to gender equality and the advancement of women. Every year representatives of Member States gather at United Nations Headquarters in New York to evaluate progress on gender equality, identify challenges, set global standards and formulate concrete policies to promote gender equality and women's empowerment worldwide.
